Are the Sox Turning the Corner?

The White Sox have now won each of their last 3 games, and in each more dominating performance than the one before. Since the 9th inning of the Twins game, the Sox have looked like a legitimate power in this league.

They smoked the Cubs, lit up the Red Sox, and scored 4 in 1 inning off Nathan. They are beginning to hit the ball with a lot more regularity (20 hits today, 13 yesterday, and 4 in the 9th vs. Minnesota). The pitching has been great with Torres, Garcia, and Buehrle. Bullpen has been solid and the baserunning/defense have both been much better.

Of course during all of this the Tigers have not lost a game, so the Sox are still 7 games back. However with 6 of the last 9 against the Tigers, there really is not a single digit number that cannot be over come. But I think if we want to truly dream, this run needs to continue and get up around 6/7/8 games in a row for the Sox.

That being said, I think it's do-able. Each of the next 3 matchups are solid for the White Sox, and then Oakland comes into the Cell. As much as I want to sit here and complain about how the Rays handed that game to the Tigers today (gave up 3 in the 9th, then left Carlos Pena on 1st to run and he did not score on Longoria's double), but we need to just concentrate on ourselves. Continue playing like we have, and keep winning games. They will cool off a little, we just must stay white-hot for at least the next week and then stay hot for the rest of the year.

This season isn't over. The E# is 21 right now. Just keep that number up and we can keep dreaming. You never know, you just never know.
