Peavy Dominates Red Sox... Triple A Team

Jake Peavy was brilliant in his "White Sox" debut.  He struck out 5 and gave up just 1 hit and 1 walk in 3 innings of work.  He threw a total of 46 pitches.  Peavy says he needs more strength before he comes back, but that he ankle feels good.

This has me incredibly excited.  Peavy is expected to start 2 more times in the minors before he is ready, but if he has the arm strength that he wants by the next start he may only make one (at least that is how it goes in my dreams)

The Sox currently sit 2.5 games behind the Tigers and the same amount ahead of the Twinks.  My hope is that the Sox are within striking distance (3 or 4 games at the most) by the time Jake comes back.  When he makes his official Sox debut the Sox will instantly have the best rotation in the division, and should be able to pick a few games up.  They just need to stay steady and stick around in the race til he's ready.  No need to make a run now, just don't fall too far behind.
