Huge Road Trip, Weird Implications

The Sox are about to embark on a huge 11 game road trip that includes 7 games against the top two teams in the best division in baseball, the final 3 games in the place in which I will not talk about, and finishes with 1 against the North Siders.

But what I find odd about this road trip is that I can't see any chance the Sox gain anything out of it. It's very unlikely the Sox return from this trip with a winning record. Therefore, it's very unlikely the Sox will be able to gain any ground on the Tigers. But what makes it even weirder is that the Tigers are probably not going to have a good next few weeks either, seeing as they play the Angels and the Rays next.

So I don't really know what to think. If we play well, that would be great, but that's highly unlikely. If we play average, we will probably be in the same place we are now, and if we suck, then we just have to hope the Tigers do the same or else we might fall out in a hurry.

Which means there is really nothing we can gain during this trip. So I'm just going to sit back and hope that at the end of these next two weeks that we are still in this thing. Please Sox, don't blow this now, at least give us the month of September.
